Can you share your journey with Craftsman Automation and what led you to your current role as Senior Vice President?

I joined Craftsman Automation with a vision to contribute to the rapidly evolving landscape of intra-logistics automation and storage solutions. With over two decades of experience in addressing supply chain challenges and strategic leadership, I was drawn to the company’s focus on quality, innovation and customer-centric solutions. My journey here has been shaped by the collaborative ethos of the organization and the opportunity to lead transformative projects, which eventually led to my current role as Senior Vice President.
What are the key responsibilities you oversee in your role, and how do you manage priorities in a fast-changing industry?
As Senior Vice President, I oversee strategic planning, business development, and operational excellence for Craftsman Storage Systems. My role involves aligning our product innovations with market demands, driving efficiency in manufacturing processes and fostering strong client relationships. Managing priorities requires agility and a deep understanding of emerging industry trends, ensuring that we remain competitive while delivering value to our customers.

Craftsman Storage System has been making significant strides in the cold chain industry recently. Could you share more insights into this focus? What opportunities do you foresee for its future?

The cold chain industry is critical for sectors like pharmaceuticals, food and agriculture. Recognizing its importance, Craftsman Storage has developed advanced storage and retrieval solutions designed to maintain stringent temperature controls and optimize space utilization. In fact, we are credited with building India’s first sub-zero (-25 deg C) Automated Warehouse. The growing demand for seamless storage & handling of perishable goods presents immense opportunities and we are poised to play a pivotal role in driving efficiency and sustainability in this sector.

What trends are shaping the future of manufacturing and automation in India, and how is Craftsman Automation adapting to these trends?

Key trends include the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as IoT, AI, and robotics, as well as a strong focus on sustainability. Craftsman Automation has embraced these advancements by developing smart systems that enhance productivity, reduce energy consumption and provide real-time monitoring capabilities. By staying ahead of these trends, we ensure our solutions are future-ready and globally competitive.

What are the biggest challenges currently facing the Indian manufacturing sector, and how is Craftsman Automation addressing them?

The sector faces challenges such as rising input costs, skilled labor shortages, and the need for technological modernization. At Craftsman, we address these by adopting cost-effective manufacturing practices, investing in employee training programs, and continually innovating to stay at the forefront of technology. Our focus on automation also helps mitigate dependency on labor-intensive processes.

How does Craftsman Automation tailor its products to meet the specific needs of the logistics and supply chain industries? What innovative technologies will Craftsman be showcasing at LogiMAT India, and how do they differ from existing solutions in the market?

We customize our solutions based on client-specific requirements, whether it’s maximizing warehouse storage, improving throughput or enabling automated workflows. At LogiMAT India, we will showcase some of our innovations with new technologies which not only enhance operational efficiency but also align with sustainability goals, setting us apart from traditional solutions in the market.

What message do you hope to convey to attendees at LogiMAT India about the future of automation in logistics?

Our message is simple: the future of logistics lies in smart, scalable and sustainable solutions. Automation is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity for organizations to build an efficient & effective supply chain to meet the growing dynamic demands of end customers. At Craftsman Automation, we aim to empower businesses with cutting-edge technologies that redefine efficiency and resilience in logistics operations.

How does Craftsman Automation contribute to sustainability in its operations and the broader manufacturing sector?

Sustainability is integral to our operations. We incorporate energy-efficient manufacturing practices, optimize material usage and design products that minimize waste. Additionally, our solutions help clients reduce their carbon footprints through smarter logistics and reduced energy consumption, contributing to the broader goals of sustainable industrial growth.

What steps is Craftsman Automation taking to nurture local talent and contribute to community development in India?

We are deeply committed to nurturing local talent through skill development programs, partnerships with educational institutions and internships. Our community development initiatives include supporting local infrastructure projects and promoting STEM education, ensuring a positive impact on both the workforce and the communities we serve.
